Guest guest
Have you considered that she may have a mild seizure disorder along with her autism? My boy has seizures and will freeze, no matter what he is doing, even chewing food. He doesn't seem right afterwards, usually looking like someone who has just woke up from a nap. He is quiet on the days when he has more seizures. LOL Ralph" E. How come Sophie didn't say much?"She got a very blank look and said "I couldn't talk, I couldn't talk"It was like watching someone slowly "wake up". And now, as a mother who just wants to understand, I'm asking this to the Aspies and HFA folks:Did you ever have trouble speaking? Could you understand what people were saying? We're you "trapped"? Did solitude bother you or was it welcomed? How do YOU view perseverations? Are they a comfort method or a real interest? Could you control your body? Does it ever get better? If you could have had your parents/teachers do something different when you were growing up, what would it have been?I have read Temple Grandin, and she gives me an insight. But it's not the same. Thanks to anyone who can help.- StoeckerStoeckerTMail __________________________________________________
