Results of Renin activity and Aldosterone

Hi Dr. Grim and members of this wonderful board!

I finally got my results back from my lab work that I had done earlier in the

week. These were the second set of results that I have had as I was on an ace

inhibitor when I had the first labs done. I will give you the results of both

labs.

Feb. 2, 2010

aldosterone urine 28 ref range 2 - 21

aldosterone serum 45.9 ref range upright 4.0-31.0

renin 1.86 ref range upright 1.31-3.95

March 3, 2010

Renin 0.27 ref range upright 1.31-3.95

aldosterone serum 27.8 upright 4.0-31.0

So, my aldosterone went down as well as my renin. If I am calculating the ratio

correctly, it was 24.67 on Feb 2 and on March 3 it was 102.96

So what does this all mean? Why would my aldosterone go down?

Any insight would be appreciated!
