Guest guest
>Just thought I'd share my experiences. I like your name for the >diet. I was calling it the back-when-I-was-skinny diet. The French >Riviera Diet sounds good enough for a book title. > >Cara Cara: Wow, thanks for the detail! I've been thinking about this a lot too, and in fact two " skinny " people I know are both habitual meal-skippers. One gorgeous gal was saying " yeah, I DO eat a lot of pizza, but then I never eat breakfast or lunch " (she's too busy to eat). I think you hit the nail on the head with the " body gets used to burning fat " . Your body SHOULD burn fat, it is made to burn fat! I was driving me nuts trying to figure out why, with 50+ extra pounds of fat, my body is asking me for more food all the time! But maybe the answer is, the body just gets used to living off carbs all the time because we eat them all the time. I'm doing fine now with broth, jerky, fruits or vegies during the day in small amounts, even during workouts. I'm 3 lbs lighter in about a week, which is probably largely water weight but still, considering how easy this all is it's fine. I have not had lymph issues, but I have been having very vivid dreams. The reason you are not supposed to go to sleep after eating is that supposedly it encourages the food to be stored as fat -- it likely does, but most meat-eaters DO sleep after a heavy meal, and maybe being stored as fat isn't a bad thing ... as long as you live off fat the next day. Maybe we should use the " French Riviera Diet " as an NT version of the Warrior Diet (no lean meats need be mentioned! Broths encouraged! Snack on Jerky! -- the recipe, for which just got uploaded, BTW in case you missed the notice). I suspect someone has already used that for a diet name though, it's too obvious. I like the " Back when I was skinny diet " too -- I used to eat more like this when I was single also. My favorite recipe for this has been chicken/kimchi soup. I make up a big batch of chicken broth, then spoon out enough for one bowl of soup (with maybe a little chicken). Let it boil, then pour it in a big soup bowl over some kimchi (and sliced vegies). This makes a good " lunch " esp. during these first few days where my hunger is settling down. Today I was on the road all day and ate nothing but one banana and a few slices of jerky, and was fine. -- Heidi
Guest guest
> Hi Heidi (and anyone intersted in the warrior diet) kitchen. After it's clean and appetizers are prepared for the next > day, I fix dessert which is about ½ cup of kefir or yogurt with 2 egg > yolks, some coconut milk, honey, vanilla and occasionally wild > berries if I happened to pick any. All portions are smaller than I > used to eat. After I'm done I get sleepy and I go right to bed. > This is the only part of this type of diet that worries me. I've > heard that you shouldn't lay down right after eating, but I haven't > noticed any problems. One thing you might consider is that the eggs in combination with everything else are making you tired. It seems that eating eggs along with anything else can cause people to have " reactions " which make them very sleepy. You can find out more about that in the live-food discussion archives on groups. You could try not having the egg for a week and see what happens. --
