OK, prompted by this illustrious crew (thanks!) I have

snarfed up the domain " frenchrivieradiet.com " . So ...

who wants to be part of the FRD experiment? All

that is required is that you stick to the FRD for a couple

of weeks (or however long you like) and report your

results. I won't publish your name unless you say it

is ok, but I will report the summary of the results.

Or you can be public here (or on another group list,

depending how everyone feels).

Here's how I'm defining the FRD:

You should eat similarly to a busy person in the Mediterranean

might have, that is:

1. Eat little during the day. You can eat some fresh fruits and

vegies or juices. A salad with some olive oil is ok for lunch.

2. You can eat a small amount of meat or kefir during the

day too. One 8 oz glass of kefir or 6 oz of meat, or 1 oz

of jerky. But no starches or sugar during the day (except fruit).

Use your own judgment: the idea is to keep the blood sugar

from fluctuating.

3. Eat most of your food about 3-4 hours before bedtime.

Eat a nice long multi-course meal, including:

-- Starter courses (one of more of the following):

- appetizers (low on starch ones)

- non-starchy vegies (salad, roasted greens with olive oil, etc)

- Dairy/Cheese/Egg dishes (omlettes, fondues, raclette, kefir)

- Soups and broths.

-- Meat course

-- Starch course (potatos, beans, breads) (optional)

-- Dessert course (optional) -- nuts, creams, cobblers, chocolate

Or your own variation on the theme. Use of NT-friendly foods

is encouraged. Wine with dinner is ok. Keep a log and your

progress. It is all an experiment -- it works or it does not!

If it takes too much willpower, then it didn't work! I'm aiming

for a lifestyle that ordinary humans can *enjoy* and not

be fat. Suggestions welcome.

Sound like a good experiment? Everyone is welcome. If it works

then I'll set up the website and we'll publish to the world ...
