Guest guest
I have had Lasix surgery. My eyesight was horrible! 700 in one eye and 640 in the other. I wore pop bottle bottoms for glasses. I did a lot of research on Lasix- as much as I could- did not have internet access then, but went to library and had them get me articles from all over. Since my vision wasn't getting any better- only worse, and i was already on the outside edge of getting Lasix done, i decided to do it. I now have 20/20 vision in one eye and 20/40 in the other. Have not worn glasses for 4 years. Nice!!! Problems? I did have dry eye and needed liquid tears a lot. The doctor blocked my one tear duct in each eye-you have two. It was great! I do need to put on magnifying glasses to see things close and detailed, but I can read without glasses, if its for a short time. I would not trade my eyesight now for what it was for any thing. Thick glasses give one a lot of distortion. I couldn't believe how nice it was to see without it. The only problem I have is a little problem at night, BUT I always had some problem at night and had halos around all lights due to the lenses, so the problem i still have is nothing as severe as it was. Oh and another thing, i could not breathe right as the weight of the glasses cut off my ability to breathe good. Would I do it again? You bet I would! Joanne L. Guest guest
I started the SCM with the attitude that maybe I could improve my vision considerably, and then maybe go the rest of the way to 20/20 with the surgery. I just figured that the non-surgical method was worth a shot, and that any improvement would improve the success of the surgery (the better your eyes are, the better the results, is what I understand). I have known several people who are thrilled with their lasik (and a few who had radial years ago, where they actually cut your cornea with a scalpel). I know one person who really regretted hers, but after her eyes healed from the first surgery, they did an " enhancement " and now she is thrilled, too. I do not personally know anyone who is suicidal or has worse vision than before, or other problems, but reading about those possibilities was enough to make me decide to try the natural method first. I am more motivated than many, I'm sure, and have been very diligent about practicing. I was telling a friend about it, and like so much of my " natural lifestyle " , he thought it sounded like too much work and too much fussing, and said, " If I were nearsighted, I'd want the quick and easy fix of the surgery. " More typical attitude than mine, I'm sure. And I'm sure that makes the doctors who've gotten rich with Lasik very happy! Jill Re: Naturally Improving Eyesight I have had Lasix surgery. Guest guest
I am wondering how nearsighted folks are who do this? I have pretty thick glasses--mainly near sighted. But now I also need correction for reading as I am over 40. I've noticed my vision has worsened in less than the 2 yrs that Dr generally changes myRX lately. I " d love to do something other than just keep getting stronger glasses--but I am concerned. There is no way I can function without glasses or with weaker ones-i " d never be able to drive for instance. Is there a way to improve astigmatism and bad eyesight that is not just a little bad? Guest guest
I considered my nearsightedness fairly bad (20/400, or -6.00--and at one time it was as bad as -7.25). The SCM is touted to work for nearsightedness, farsightedness, presbyopia (age-related), and astigmatism. I can only speak for the nearsighted part since that's what I am. The people who answer the phone at the toll-free number for SCM are very helpful. They are given 30 minutes every day, paid, to do the exercises. I've called a number of times and almost every person was someone who had some amount of vision problem. One guy had started at -11 and had improved to -6 in a few months and was thrilled. Another guy was fine until he had to get reading glasses after 40 but now doesn't need them. Etc. (They could all be lying, of course. Maybe they're told to make up their own personal vision story.) I thought I couldn't function without my glasses until I started trying to do so. I was surprised at how well I started to adapt and see or at least function well enough. I certainly still wear them to drive and to work at my computer all day. But I take them off whenever I get up from my desk. I try to leave them off until I leave my house in the morning, and I try to leave them off all evening, too. I am able to read books with the books not quite as close to my face. At first when reading without my glasses, I had to hold the book so close that I had to close one eye. But now I can hold it at a comfortable distance. Oh, I'm sure it's very, very rare-- maybe he's the only one. But knowing one case personally is enough to scare me away from it. Not suggesting anyone else should be scared away, of course.
