Guest guest
Tangential to my post regarding naturally improving your eyesight, I was wondering if anyone has tips for relaxing: be they nutritional, spiritual, fitness-related, etc.? I have tried massage, acupuncture, stretching, chiropractic, aerobic exercise, yoga, counseling, GABA supplements, stretching...everything helps a little, but nothing helps a lot, and most of it costs a pretty penny. I seem to have a high-strung personality...I take things personally, am oversensitive to criticism, have a little tendency to obsessive-compulsive behavior, am a perfectionist, and have trouble handling stress (whether positive or negative). I have a tendency to hold my breath. I sit at a computer all day and have muscle fatigue and tension from that. I rarely sit still from the moment I get home till I go to bed, and spend a lot of time cooking and cleaning...much more than I really want to. I am beginning to think I need significant changes--such as a job where I don't sit staring at a computer all day, for one. The past year has been a roller coaster of emotions and stressful situations. I " handled " them all--took on a lot of responsibility and managed to get through them all with out losing it, but it's obvious the stress has taken a toll on me physically. Any suggestions? Have you ever tried low-carbing, or at least reduced-carbing? Since you're here I assume you've eliminated refined sugars and maybe refined starches, but if you haven't, try cutting them out and replacing them with animal fat. Fat evens out your blood sugar and calms all kinds of hormonal systems. As to relaxation, I've had mixed but good results with EFT. Sometimes it just fails (and I wonder whether I'm incorrectly formulating the statements or not concentrating properly, or whether it's just not appropriate for all stresses) and sometimes it has a near-magical effect, as though someone just lifted a heavy blanket of stress right off me. You can read all about EFT at Mercola's site -- he's a huge and frankly over-enthusiastic proponent -- and he has some useful though very poorly-produced videos on the subject. -
Guest guest
Hi, I think one of the keys to EFT is to be specific. Sometimes that is hard, because you don't know exactly what may be causing the problem, but if you keep digging, you can get deeper and more specific and really feel a diference. Also, I went to see someone who does Bodytalk today. I am a hyper person, and she said I was " crossed " . This is something I have not heard before, but she rubbed what essentially seemed to by my EFT soar spots (just below clavical) and I pressed my eyes until seeing lights, and she tapped my head and sternum, and i was quickly very relaxed. The relaxation lasted several hours then I was back to hyper. maybe if I do it more... I have found taking ca/mg sups with a glass of milk helps relax me. Sitting at the computer all day at work sucks. I feel like a caged animal and I am sure this is part of the problem. One thing I am going to try is drumming. I saw this Japanese guy banging the hell out of this Taiko drum. Seemed like every once of energy was going into that drum. I am thinking if I did that ever day after work It would feel pretty good. Then there is always beer and wine of course. -Joe --- In , Idol <Idol@c...> wrote: > Jill- > > >Any suggestions? > > Your description of yourself matches me fairly well when I eat too many > carbs.
