Guest guest Posted December 2, 2005 Report Share Posted December 2, 2005 Hey guys and girls....I got a pair of Walk On AFOs from Otto Bock a couple of months ago and I thought I would make a few comments about my experience with them so far.The first pair I had cracked in a week and a day...not good.....we re-ordered a pair from Otto Bock, of course free of charge. When the second pair came in, one was cracked...not good....I received my third pair, and so far so good. They have not cracked. I would say that they are not really any better than the rigid AFOs I was wearing before. The only real difference was that they seem to help a tad more with balance while standing still. I also have problems with the velcro portion at the top staying put. I asked the orthotist about the hinged AFOs and he said certain people can wear them and some cannot. He said I wasnt a good candidate for hinged ones, so obviously, i went with the rigid ones. So to sum up: the Walk On by Otto Bock, is not a bad AFO, except for the cracking part.
