Guest guest
Hi Caroline I have always been very up front with my GP and give him a briefing every 3 months or so on 's progress and test results. He has always been interested and positive. I also state in writing in 's annual review (LEA) that he has Mineral Metabolism disorder and toxic encephalopathy as diagnosed by Dr Usman, and is undergoing treatment. In my view, it is better to be honest and upfront about treatments. I consider 's school, the GP, SLT etc to be part of a 'treatment team' and I share all aspects of treatment between them. Guest guest
Hi Tina I think you are lucky that your GP is positive and interested. But if he wasn't and your pead was very anti and you were a single mother then the situation would be totally different. And if the school was saying that your son was just fine and you were being over the top about things and then ss start sniffing around. Suddenly a very caring mother is seen as something totally different or made out to be something different. My friend was also referred to the royal free - inspite of tests from a DAN in the USA saying he was very ill and alternating diaorrhea and constipation the dr there said he was absolutely fine. What can she do in this situation when everyone is against her other than not say anything to anyone? Guest guest
My son went to RF in December, the Paed there was told all about our biomed and he put in writing there was nothing RF could offer my son and supported our case for funding. It would be impossible to get funding without telling them exactly what you are doing, once they see the improvements come in they really cannot argue anymore, ofcourse whether funding will be given is another matter. Guest guest
Tina Thanks for your mail and after I wrote this this morning I got so mad and I am not going to change what I do. I am going to still be honest open and up front and just let them try and take my kid. With they would give her back pretty quickly if she went full belt in a screaming tantrum. I can tell you that 4 sure. Lotsa Luv Caroline xxx
Guest guest
Hi Peta Yes, I probably am lucky with my GP, but the other people like SLT, SENCO etc are people we have built up a high degree of trust with over a number of years of ABA, biomed, SI etc. My GP I gave loads of reading to explain what I was doing any why. I would hate to be in a position where I could not be honest with the key people who are helping my son. Each case should clearly be made on a case by case basis, but I wouldn't like people to get too paranoid about this. Surely, you are in a much weaker position if you have concealed information from professionals - in the end if our children become ill and need medical care, you would need to tell the GP or hospital what treatment they have been getting otherwise you may get an incorrect diagnosis and inappropriate medication. Guest guest
Having worked in social services for over 20 years before leaving to focus on my son  I can answer that one – no they cant just take them, not unless you ask them to take them into care onf a voluntary basis and you sign the forms, they have to go to court and get an emergency protection order granted by the court  which they can get that day, so basically that would give you a bit of time between leaving your house and them returning , now if they come to your house already in possession of one then you wont have time! nikki Re: Informing Drs of biomed Tina Thanks for your mail and after I wrote this this morning I got so mad and I am not going to change what I do.
