Guest guest
For a detailed treatment of Phase I and phase II see the chapter " Glutathione and Liver detoxification " from the book " Glutathione The Ultimate Antioxidant " by Alan Pressman (soft cover). The book has a liver function test scale. Lab tests can be taken to evaluate liver function like a " functional liver detoxification profile " . An " oxidative stress panel " is also mentioned as useful. Read the book, it is a great work. Supplements to support your liver : C 2g E 400IU Mixed carotenes 20,000 IU GSH (glutathione) 250 mg NAC 100 mg Lipoic acid 200 mg Selenium 100 mcg Zinc 15 mg Silymarin 200-600 mg Phase II problems: excessive fatigue, rashes, frequent colds, in the long run at greater risk for cancer and autoimmune diseases. Phase I problems: damage to neurological, endocrine, and immune systems. The above was taken from Dr. Pressman's book " Glutathione " Dennis hyperbaroman@... wrote: > Hi DL, > Since no one here probably knows what you are talking about, can you > please elaborate.-Like how does one know if they have a sub par phase > one or phase two cycle and what can be done to " upregulate " . > > But first it would be helpful to know what is a sub par phase one or > phase two cycle? > > Best Wishes, > Hyperbaroman > > -- In oxyplus@y..., dl <dlipter@a...> wrote: > > With all this talk about fasting and liver cleansing, not once have > I > > heard mentioned " phase one activation " and " phase two conjugation " . > > These are two critical liver processes that deal with the > neutralization > > and elimination of toxins. Guest guest
Hi DL, Thanks for the info. I've been taking 560 mg of silymarin a day. I read that can double glutathione production in the liver. Guest guest
Dear , The key to having a successful liver cleanse is doing all the Epsom salts. They open the liver channels and ensure that no blockage of the channels or ducts will occur. Some people have reported passing stones the size of Brazil nuts, which are damn big! So the danger is remote in reality, as long as all the Epsom salts is done. People that cut back on the Epsom salts are not doing themselves any favors. I have personally recommended about 2000 people to do liver cleanses in the last eight years, and have never had anyone report anything other than relief and renewed energy after they had succeeded in passing stones. Occasionally people don't get anything the first, or even the second time, because their liver is so plugged. People with chronic constipation are most likely to have this problem (and vice versa). Bile causes peristalsis. Plugged liver = no bile = no peristalsis = no bowel movements. The liver is the largest internal organ, typically weighing a pound or more. It is composed of thousands of channels that filter the blood passing through. That is why it can have 2000 stones in it and still function (after a fashion). The liver produces cholesterol, and traps any particles that are in the blood in cholesterol and holds them in the channels. More layers of cholesterol are added, building up the size of the lump, forming a waxy 'stone'. When autopsied, these concentric rings of built up cholesterol can be seen, looking just like a hailstone. The easiest, cheapest and most beneficial health practice a person can have is twice-yearly liver cleanses. Best of Health! Guest guest
Hi Dennis, Can you elaborate a little more on this idea of the Phase I and Phase II pathways of the liver? First of all, how can one find out if they are deficient, as you stated? Second, how can one find out how to support or " upregulate " these two functions?
