We have 2 more days before recess! Let's get a majority today! Please drop what you're doing and call your congressman today! We currently have 206 House members cosponsoring the house version, HR 2421. We need 218 cosponsors, a majority, in the next 2 days to give us our best shot at quick passage in the House! That's 12 more cosponsors-we can do it!! We need your help today! Please call your Congressman today and ask them to cosponsor HR2421. Their " support " or their " vote " is not enough-tell them you need their cosponsorship now! Go to www.combatautism.org to find your Representative and their telephone number to make your call. If your Congressman is already listed as cosponsoring, no action is needed, but you can call and thank them for their support. If they are not listed as a cosponsor, here's what you can do to help: Call your Representative's Washington office immediately. Go to www.combatautism.org to get your Congressmen's contact information. Ask to speak to the Health Staffer. If you get voicemail, leave a message asking them to call you back. If you reach the staffer, tell him or her that you are a constituent, that the Combating Autism Act of 2006 passed the Senate by Unanimous Consent, and you are asking your Congressman to join the 206 existing House sponsors of HR2421 and the US Senate as a cosponsor. Tell them that 206 Congressman are already cosponsoring, including any from your state that are already cosponsors. Let them know we expect the Combating Autism Act of 2006 to pass this session, therefore you are asking for your congressman's immediate support as a cosponsor. Let them know they can get more information about the Combating Autism Act from the Combat Autism website at www.combatautism.org. Tell them that to become a cosponsor of HR.2421, they can call Taryn Keyworth in Congresswoman Bono's office at 202-225-5330 or Cohen in Congresswoman DeGette's office at 202-225-4431. Ask them to call you back at your number and let you know if you can count on your Representative to cosponsor the legislation. Let us know what you heard! Contact us on the www.combatautism.org website if they give you a clear " yes " or " no " to co-sponsorship, or any other information they might have given you. If you have been told your congressman will cosponsor ( " support " or " vote for " is not enough), and they are not already listed as a cosponsor, please email Success Stories on the www.combatautism.org website. We need to know what they are saying to you, their constituent! Thank you for your support!
