Guest guest
Really?!? (the bit about the dietician) life is so tough with Tom that it is easy to forget people that people have it even tougher with their autistic children. I would find it very hard to take a comment like that. We have tried to be open about everything we do because we think that (a) the truth is powerful and ( we may be helping parents in the future but, much as much I’ve not liked the professionals I’ve dealt with, none of them have ever accused me of being cruel to my child. (Having said that there were such dodgy things in Tom’s original reports before his diagnosis, they wrote things like ‘the uncle is very withdrawn’ and ‘the paternal grandmother is of a depressive nature’ which were gross misquotes of things we had said and were taken totally out of context, they also said that ‘Tom’s parents disagree about how to best parent their child’. That was because they told me not to give Tom a dummy, he hurt himself and I gave him one, DH shook his head and I said ‘no, it’ll be alright’. So, actually, it’s beginning to sound a lot more credible, unfortunately!!! Sara Re: Fw: MSP/ What can happen to parents when refus... Sara I will see if I can find the case of the lady that private eye and a couple of others highlighted. When her boys were being diagnosed with autism she had terrible trouble and kept getting things put on her notes that she was exaggerating their problems and generally an attention seeker. It consequently took several years to get her boys the diagnosis and the help they needed. She then became unwell and , because her notes said she was attention seeking ( and if I remeber rightly mentioned MSP) she kept being sent home. She was found to have cancer and died because the treatment was so delayed. Her name was Debbie something - i remeber the Debbie bit for obvious reasons. Her solicitor at tghe time spoke out because she was so outraged at the way this lady had been treated like a nutcase and that solicitor also said she had other similar clients whom family court rules meant she could not discuss openly. It is crazy. I have always been wary as the first time I say a dietician (in 1999) she told me that if I did gfcf she would report me to social services. I don't tell anyone what I do with Charlie now and i have been very careful in how I deal with Doctors per se..... Deborah -- Internal Virus Database is out-of-date. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
