Guest guest
I'm 45 years old and probably being dealing Conn's with since 2000. Meds: Parnate 20mg, Intal, Zantac, HCTZ 12.5mg, Catapres 0.1mg. I have idiopathic anaphylaxis, asthma, and food allergies. History of depression, which started with dealing with the anaphylaxis. I don't eat any processed/fast food since being put on Parnate, nor add salt to food. No caffeine in any form. I would love to dump the HCTZ, but the swelling in my hands and feet are crazy. They hurt to move them in the morning. Beta Blockers and CCB are out due to flaring my asthma. The ACE inhibitors gave me such bad angio edema, I had to go to the ER. My current shrink has never believed my " episodes " are truly panic attacks, and after 4 ER visits with my K running, 2.5, 2.7, 2.8, 2.4 (with no reason, was off the HCTZ at the time), he referred me to an internist. The internist mentioned Conn's. ly, at this point, I don't even care. I'm so tired all the time. When my K drops, my brain shuts down. I had the aldostrone/renin drawn, and a ton of other lab work 2 weeks ago. Oh, and a 24 urine for aldostrone and K I'm having a CT scan on Monday for the adrenal glads. My cardiac history is perfect except for the high blood pressure. I had the echo with contrast, stress test, MRA (MRI where they look at the blood vessels), month long halter monitor where it did pick up an episode. The 150 heart rate was considered tachy, but normal. My cholesterol panel was " perfect " . The only thing cardiology offered was to do a cath ablation, which I decline. Then I was punted off as a kook. So...That's my sorry tale of woe. Nanci Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
