Guest guest
, Omega 3's are fish oil supplements. I no longer see a neurologist, but my Internist said that because my diet and nutrition plan includes enough, not to take this. But he is adamant about Vitamin E for skeletal muscle function. Here is a website that might be of interest. http://www.omega-3info.com/home.htm Omega 3 supplements can be purchased at your local health food store. There is one indication about taking aspirin with them. Since the Omega 3 is a type of 'anti-inflammatory' - it is not a good idea to take them when you are taking aspirin too. No research on Omega 3's for CMT has ever been published, although I found research on Fish Oils for Rheumatic Arthritis, Osteoarthritist, Fibromylagia and CFS. But these illnesses are very different from CMT. The one thread through them all is that Omega 3's seem to have some sort of pain reducer - sure, like I said above, that is what anti-inflammatories do - help pain, an example is Naprosyn. Do your research and take it to your doctor for consult. ~ Gretchen
