Guest guest
Strange! My doc said if I don't like Spiro she can replace it with Inspra. Did your doc give a reason why s/he is not giving you Inspra? Of course my doc said Inspra is expensive, but I am not sure how much. It will be enlightening to know your doc's reasons for denying Inspra to you. Please share when known. Max. | |Looking for advice how to lower Spiro dose. Guest guest
1. Why will he not consider Inspra? It is the agent of choice in PA if spiro and DASH don't work2. You need to DASH to the max to minimize the need for MCRBs. Recall that when excess aldo is given animals they MUST be on a high salt diet or HTN or low K or heart enlargement and scarring of the heart and kidneys does not occur. 3. It is a trail and error on how to reduce spiro and keep BP at goal.4. I would check BP am and pm and weight daily. and adjust spiro no more that 25 mg per week.Keep us posted with your BPs Do you have the DASH book? Go to the Dashforhealth and sign up for it and pay the small amount each month to see if this helps. One week of Inspra will cost more than a whole year of subscribing I recall. On Feb 21, 2010, at 3:02 PM, mmcandmcc wrote:Looking for advice how to lower Spiro dose. Guest guest
When I brought up Inspra he said he's not changing things if my BP looks good. When I complained of menstural problems, he dismissed it as few people really get the side effects you read about. I'm guessing it's really about money. > > > Strange!
