Guest guest
I know that many people here have kids with lead problems, and I'm looking for some help understanding some test results. My son's hair tests have both shown lead. In the yellow both times, the second time (during chelation) higher than the first. I also know he was very likely exposed to lead when we moved into our fixer- upper when he was 18 months old. He is now 3.3. He is non-verbal, although when we moved in to our house he spoke about 100 words. I recently had bloodwork done on him, 10 days after a chelation round (which was 6 days long). I thought that this test might give us some indication of how much lead he was moving. Well, the test results show .01 umol/L (ref range 0 - 0.5). Either this is very good news: ie he doesn't have lead problems. Or the test is wrong. Or my timing was wrong. Or the chelation round didn't move any lead. Or.... Does anyone have any thoughts on what this might mean? I'd sure appreciate them. Thanks, Anita

Just let me know. And I'm very sorry I've forgotten your name. Not a lack of caring by any means. That is very interesting, particularly for a leady kid like Sam. I'm not sure what is going on, but has suggested maybe my DMSA is too low now. I'll be putting it up after our viral protocol is done and trying some more urine and fecal tests. Won't worry about the blood tests anymore. I'm afraid this one made my doctor think I might be a nut. >>>I am trying to tweak Sam's up a bit now, I have a buddy doing 200mg per dose on a small 6 year old with good effect, Sam can't take 50mg per dose...........back to cap splitting - haven;t done that for years now with the DMSA lol Mandi x
