Hi Nevin,

Can you describe the head shaking. My daughter has suffered with

quite severe head shaking over the past year. With Katy her whole

head was jerking forward.myoclonic jerks,She could hardley walk

because she was jerking so profoundly. We saw a neurologist whose

only advise was to ignore it.I have spent a great deal of time and

worry trying to figure out what was going on.

I know this may not be relevant to Roni, but I think Katy's was

related to Oxalates ,tryptophan and dopamine levels effecting her

basal ganglion. We are just in the process of trying to sort this out

and investigate with Dr Usman.I have also read that the herpes virus

will cause jerking movements .

Katy also had a EEG that they said was normal, but at that time she

was not head jerking. We were offered no followup just told to stop

worrying and ignore it!

We are shortly going to try supplementing with high doses of Biotin

and TTFD.

Thankfully Katy's head jerking has settled greatly but does re

occur occassionally. We started her on TD glutathione this week _a

tiny spot and the head jerking has returned slightly.

Sorry I can't be more helpful as I know this is very worrying.I'll

let you know if we get further information,we visit Dr U in 3wks

time.

Best wishes

Sharon.

--HI Sharon ,

Many thanks for sharing you views on this worrying behaviour.Recently

one of my friend started using homeopathy, and the homeopath is an

expert treating horses as well as people.I looked at her web site, one

of the symptoms she was treating was 'head shaking'.I wasn't very

comfortable about the treatment provided for two species,I guess I was

afraid of remedies would be mixed up!

Pleas share your talk with DrUsman about this,I would love to hear..I

guess I may use Biotin as Dr Shaw was highly recommending this in his

book related with candida.

Warmly

Nevin

-Thanks Margaret,

I missed this possibility but it looks like it is related with

something else. When he is in pain,he is different. However I will

observe him more closely.

Thanks

Hi Nevin,

Dr Usamn told me to look at dopamine and the Basal Ganglion. This was

associated with a movement disorder ,I had read recently on the Low

Oxalate site of Biotin deficiency and problems with Thiamine

transport being associated with Basal Ganglion disease and reported

this to Dr Usman who felt it would be worth trying Katy with some

TTFD and Biotin.

It was interesting that you mentioned biotin for treating

yeast, several have reported less yeast problems with being on the

LOD diet.

I will report back when I find out more,I think low tryptophan or

problems with niacin may have something to do with Katy's picture

and I feel sure the oxalates are a very big part.

I'll report back when I find out more, may not be until early June

when we have visited Dr U.

Thank you to and Diane for that information you gave.

Best wishes

---Hi Sharon,,

Thanks for the information.Perhaps I should look at the low oxalate

group's site.Forgive me ,I must know but I can't remember,what TTFD

stands for?

Perhaps I should mention this to drHeard as well.Biotin that I have is

suitable children with over 12,so I can use it.But what Dr Shaw

recommends 'start Biotin one week after starting antifungal therapy

because it encourages yeast growth. However he says biotin stimulates

them but are less likely to covert to their mycelium from which is the

form in which they invade the tissues!

If you use it and your child improves, could you share it again, please.

Thanks
