I haven't done a 24 hr urine for NA and K since before I was diagnosed. I usually am around 1700-1800 mg of NA per day. If I go less than that by the 2nd or 3rd day I crave salt so badly that I have to eat half a bag of potato chips or salted peanuts or something. I know the goal is less than 1500 mg but my body doesn't seem to want to let me do that. BP this PM was 124/79. My meds:

AM: spiro 100 mg, toprol XL 50 mg, pepcid 20 mg, ASA 81 mg

PM: spiro 100 mg, plavix 75 mg, zocor 40 mg, CA+MG+ Zinc

I know the toprol is probably not doing anything for BP but my cardiologist put me on it for the LFH, which has just about resolved. I tried weaning off it, took 25 mg 2xday and my pulse was up in the 120's. Before starting it I was always tachycardic, 100's-110's at rest. I'm not eager to go back to that so we decided I'd just stay on it. I know it contributes to my tiredness but at least my heart doesn't feel like it's beating out of my chest.

Yule was good, the first was my usual - can't make it up til the ball drops any more :-) Hope your holidays were good.

a: have you ever done a 24 hr urine to look at Na and K intake. Would be useful I would think. What other meds are you on and when do you take them?

Trust you had a cool yule and a frantic first.
