Guest guest
Don't recall reason for Plavix and Zocor and ASA. Not sure what LFH is? Lose floppy heart or mistype? Just note on my keyboard F and V are close. So it would appear your heart size has gone back to normal with Spiro and DASH and maybe Top?CEGOn Jan 15, 2010, at 6:24 PM, a Hall wrote:I haven't done a 24 hr urine for NA and K since before I was diagnosed. I usually am around 1700-1800 mg of NA per day. If I go less than that by the 2nd or 3rd day I crave salt so badly that I have to eat half a bag of potato chips or salted peanuts or something. I know the goal is less than 1500 mg but my body doesn't seem to want to let me do that. BP this PM was 124/79. My meds:AM: spiro 100 mg, toprol XL 50 mg, pepcid 20 mg, ASA 81 mgPM: spiro 100 mg, plavix 75 mg, zocor 40 mg, CA+MG+ Zinc I know the toprol is probably not doing anything for BP but my cardiologist put me on it for the LFH, which has just about resolved. I tried weaning off it, took 25 mg 2xday and my pulse was up in the 120's. Before starting it I was always tachycardic, 100's-110's at rest. I'm not eager to go back to that so we decided I'd just stay on it. I know it contributes to my tiredness but at least my heart doesn't feel like it's beating out of my chest. Yule was good, the first was my usual - can't make it up til the ball drops any more :-) Hope your holidays were good. a -- On Fri, 1/15/10, Clarence Grim <lowerbp2mac> wrote:From: Clarence Grim <lowerbp2mac>Subject: Re: To hyperaldosteronism Date: Friday, January 15, 2010, 6:03 PMa: have you ever done a 24 hr urine to look at Na and K intake. Guest guest
Two years ago I had stents bilaterally in femorals. Two months ago I learned that both peroneal arteries are 100% occluded, as well as my celiac artery. And I have a 2.5 cm AAA which may or may not be related to my long-standing uncontrolled HPTN. My cholesterol and triglycerides are always high, with HDL & LDL inverted. Part of my problem is that I got lousy genes from both parents. Dad had 2 MI's, first in his 50's, CABG twice, stents x4, DM, colon cancer. My mother and two of her sisters had carotid endarterectomy in their 50's. I seem to have fairly good collateral circulation and my carotids and stress tests are ok so the consensus is just to watch the AAA for now until it gets bigger. I try to stay positive and not to dwell on anything, just be aware and keep an eye on things :-) Sorry for the typo, should have been LVH and it is much better. a From: Clarence Grim <lowerbp2mac (DOT) com>Subject: Re: [hyperaldosteronism ] To hyperaldosteronismDate: Friday, January 15, 2010, 6:03 PM a: have you ever done a 24 hr urine to look at Na and K intake. Guest guest
Hmmmm. What is your natural hair color. This problem seems to be more common in redheads-at least that was what I was taught by a vascular surgeon trained at Mich.Sorry I had forgot that you had had this problem. How is your LDL and HDL doing. You likely have one of the FMH cholesterol problem and all of your blood relatives should be tested no mater what age. Even at birth is the recommendation.
