Yes, it is designed to find which side is functional, and according to

research, relative to AVS, its specifity is near 100% but its sensitivity is

reported to be higher than AVS as well as lower and I have not found a

comprehensive research publication to address this issue more accurately

yet.

I am glad you did as there should always be a discussion of the other gland.Bring him up to date.You must still realize that CT or MRI says nothing about function.
