Guest guest
Would normally have been out of ours too but we were feeling flush last year as Tim's grandparents had given us some money to spend on him and fundraising/grant applying for the Comprehensive course was going better than we'd ever thought possible! So rather than having to take out the bank loan we were gearing up for, we had more money than we needed and the grandparents were happy for us to use some of theirs for the Newcastle course. It was useful for us to do even though it was only a short time between this and actually going out there (we got a cancellation) There are evening sessions so a lot is packed into the 2 1/2 days - makes it more like a 3 - 4 daytime only course. Very intensive! You won't get that much which is totally specific to your child as they obviously are trying to cover as many variables as possible in a short time. You will get lots of ideas though. There are some Q & A sessions but you need to get in quick!! I'd say go for it if you can get funding. However, if it's between this course and putting the money towards the Comprehensive then go for the Comprehensive for sure, and get the team to yourselves for a week and six months follow up plus a trip to Florida ;-) > > I just checked out the cost of this conference. Guest guest
Hi Rhona The comprehensive course is the biggie - you go to them in Florida for five days and then get two phone consults a month for six months (and extend if you need) It's totally individualised for your family. Details of all their programmes here http://www.autism-programs.com/ HTH (I just read what they say about the England program on the website and it reminded me how interesting the stuff on dyspraxia and motor control was and how I sat there thinking " so THAT's why he does x,y and z! " ) > Hello Hugh and Sara > > Anyone there have details of the comprehensive course and which > topics covered? > > thanks > Rhona

I had a look at this but just wondered how much was bio med. > It looks like the major component is ABA/Son Rise orientated( > has an ABA prog through UK YAP) so perhaps less relevant. Yes, I don't think you'd learn any biomed you don't already know!
