My humanities class was like 30 (?) years ago....i was trying to remember the name Demeter. thanks mark Re: OT Tahitian Noni Juice >Oh, according to ancient greek mythology (religion), i believe it was >Persephone who was offered some pomagranite pieces by Hades, and for every >section she took, we recieve one month of winter. However the fruit was not from Hell. The fruit was from Earth, which is why she had to stay. When her daughter was taken by Hades into the Underworld, Demeter warned Persephone to eat nothing, lest she be compelled to stay forever. Hades tricked Persephone into eating 6 seeds of a pomegranate, and Demeter negotiated with Hades to get Persephone back on Earth for 6 months, with then 6 months' winter. Pomegranates have never been reviled because of this, as it wasn't their fault. --V vbaker@... -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
