Guest guest
Hi Megs, I had both my achillies tendons lengthened by 2.5 cm eight years ago & have to say the final result is fantastic. I will never forget the day I could stand up straight for the first time with both my heels firmly on the ground. Good luck & I hope the surgery works out for you. Kind regards Megs Ballam <tckm@...> wrote: Hi , That sounds so positive! I'm glad to hear some good news come out of surgery. I'm scheduled to have my first op in March next year. They will be doing a tendon transfer, removing some bone, straightening my big toes, lengthening my achilles tendon and some other stuff, but can't remember what it is. There is a possibility that I will have to have a fusion in my right foot, which is the worst. But I'm really looking forward to having it done as the surgeon said it will lengthen my feet and make them slimmer so I can wear shoes other than sandals and ugh boots. Mum told me that it will also help me to walk normally instead of on the outside of my feet and I should have less pain too which right now is 24/7. I'm just looking forward to it fullstop. Good luck with your healing process and for your next surgery. Megs
