Guest guest
Hello List, I want to do a h2o2 bath, but I have well water that is really high in iron. A gallon jug of it looks rust colored. Could anyone tell me if this iron will absorb into my body and be bad for me? Or will it react badly with h202? Its pretty scary looking water. Best Wishes! Guest guest
Hi Pete, the hydrogen peroxide will not reach with the well water. I have had good results with city water and HP. so a little rusty water should be ok. just my 2 cents Laurie alreadyherenow@... wrote: > Hello List, > I want to do a h2o2 bath, but I have well water that is > really high > in iron. Guest guest
Hi Pete, You can get carbon block filters for bath and shower. Cost is about $40. The one I use is a TerraFlo. Don't know if they have a web site or not. If you are interested I will find their file and see if I have a phone number. But it will remove the iron and other things that you can't see. Guest guest
Thanks Donna, I don't think that would do it for my water because it would get clogged really fast . I have a ridiculously LARGE amount of iron in my water. If I spray the ground with it for a few minutes, the sandy ground becomes reddish. Plants in the yard get a rust colored hue if I water them for a while. I've heard that iron is very toxic in large quantities if it is taken internally. My grandfather died because the doctor gave him too many iron supplements (or so my Dad says). I don't know if it can be absorbed through the skin, but that is what I'm trying to find out about. Guest guest
You might consider some of the magnetic treatments for water. As I understand it, magnets are placed on the water lines and they keep iron and other metals from proceeding through the pipes. Yes, iron becomes toxic when one gets too much. Guest guest
Wow, That IS a lot of iron!! I had a friend who had so much sulfer in his water, that it would clog up his filter rapidly. Off the top of my head, how about trying to trap some of it with the powerful magnets available on the net? Then filtering? Yes, iron supplements are to be treated with great caution. Guest guest
Hi Dr. Pressman, I think the iron in my water is already oxidized because it is in the form of iron oxide (rust colored). I'm mainly concerned about the possibility of absorbing a toxic amount of iron through my skin. I would never drink it, but take showers in it and am worried about even that. I can't seen to find any info at all about iron absorbtion through the skin. Best Wishes!
