Guest guest
Hard to tell. But I've noticed a lot of stories about Omega 3 and the benefits lately. It's now even in my brand of dog food! Which is a good thing since I have a Chinese Shar-pei and they have a whole list of things they have a tendency to develop. And my Shar-pei was (unfortunately) born in a puppy mill, bought by someone who had no clue it was a puppy mill, she was sick and then surrendered to a local shelter when he was sure she was going to die. So her early life was not very good. So far she has no health problems, but our vet is watching her for any kidney and thyroid problems that might pop up since puppy mills are not known for taking good care of pregnant females. I can't let anything happen to her. She another kid to me, and the girls would just be heartbroken. She's their buddy. They rough house with her, lay on her watching tv, cuddle up with her, and hug her to peices. :-) toni [ ] omega 3 Just today I heard on the tv news (the research must be out:) that omega 3 taken while pregnant helps the unborn child's immune system and can help with possible allergies...they did mention the positive effects on heart patients and as an anti-inflammatory..it's taken everyone else a lot longer than the people on this list to see all of the positive benefits, huh? Wish I would have taken it when I was pregnant as I wonder if my children with apraxia would have benefitted???? Kathy
Guest guest
I also have wondered about that issue as well. My 3rd child is apraxic, mild, but still has some long term issues we are working on. But my 4th child who is now almost 4, when she was newborn, I was having difficulty making enough milk for her(4 kids will do that I guess) a lactation specialist I went to told me to take evening primrose oil 1000mg daily along with B-vitamins and other herbs, well to make a long story short, I produced more than enough for her, and another major benefit I got from them was NO post partum depression, no baby blues nothing at all. I got severe baby blues after all my kids were born, crying all the time, for months afterwards. I actually was mentally in the best shape I had ever been, no mood swings. I took them for about a year. My 4th has no speech problems, actualy I think it turned her into an early teenager she is 3 going on 17 just joking! Guest guest
Has anyone herd anything about omega 3? I was giving it to my son before Dr. G. He told me to stop. I got it from Autism Coach and really want to give it to him. Dr. G. did not say why I should not and I was wondering if anyone knew? Thanks

Dr. G. did not say why I should not and I was wondering if > anyone knew? > Hi , I don't know if there's a specific reason as it would apply to Omega-3, but I do know that Dr. Goldberg is adamantly against the use of suppliments, except for regular children's multivitamin (i.e. Flintstone's, etc.), single-strain probiotic such as acidophilus, and an iron (or possibly another) suppliment IF the bloodwork calls for it. I think there might have been a post a while back that said Dr. G ok'd flaxseed oil for someone, but I don't know what that was for. There are several reasons he is against the use of suppliments. One is that there is no standardized protocol governing most suppliments sold in health food and nutrition stores, and therefore, many contain impurities that are highly allergenic, or the substances themselves are allergenic. Another issue is that some suppliments actually FEED the viruses and other critters that we are trying to deal with! The thing that must be remembered at all times (and I admit, I forget sometimes when I hear about some " miracle product " that I want to try) is that the critical objective here is *cooling down the immune system* and Dr. G wants to make sure we are not doing things that will heat it up! Hope that helps, Donna
Guest guest
, Omega3 appears to be touted by all cardiologists for folks with high cholesterol problems or bad fatty acids. My husband was put on the oils after his triple bypass five years ago. Joyce
Guest guest
Thanks for your post on the Omega 3 product. I've decided not to use it.
