Lactulose should only be utilised by lactic acid bacteria, not available for acid producing bacteria in the mouth, and ( nearly) not fermentable by yeast ! But what you were really saying was that it would go about it in a differetn manner to sugar - nbot directly attacking the teeth as normal sugar would but via the backdoor in promoting the bad oral bacteria? have I got it now? I guess that is also possible with yeasts, althoug as Lactulose is fermented by Lactic acid bacteria, they are producing Lactic acid, that in turn supress yeasts and other bad bugs, also with producing other suppressing microbiological bactericides and funigcides.
