If I'm remembering right...it's erve conduction velocity expressed in metres/second....as in how many metres the nerve signal travels in one second... For normal adults its near 38-40 m/s... For the NCV test they attach an electrode at a point on the leg surface, send out a pulse and then measure the delay before the signal reaches another electrode on the foot. By measuring the distance between the two electrodes and the time elapsed for the signal to travel you calculate the nerve conduction speed...
