Guest guest
Hi, just thought you all might like to know my solution to getting ears looked at. Because i have a ds who when he is unwell refuses to get out of the car and go into the dr's surgery i've had to try to find other routes to help him,(by the way he is quite happy to go in the surgery when well, such as when i take his sister to see the doc.) I have on two occasions now had the Doc come out to the car to examine him!!! But also i've bought myself a cheap otoscope off of ebay, it cost about £20-25. It is a wonderful little tool, easy to use and comes with photos of what you should be looking for! Now if i suspect ear trouble i have a look myself, completely bypassing the doctors!!! We've all had fun with it looking in each others ears, seeing who's got the most ear wax!!! I am please to report that i am completely wax free. I should say that since buying it my ds has not had an ear infection but when he does and i spot it, i plan on getting a home visit from the doctor! HTH, NIKKI > A few yrs back we took to A & E because he appeared to be in dreadful > pain, looked like ears, anyway the doctor was refusing to look in his ears on > the basis that is was autism and this is how they are!! Only when my very > patient husband was on the verge of decking the doctor did he spend the 2 > minutes to look at his ears and reveal he had chronic ear infection in both ears. > I truly believe our kids are discriminated against,
