Guest guest
Hi Yana, I cant help with the door issue...that will be learned. (but I like the reward system for when he is doing well). Though, with my son, it really helped to have a chart with his sched and he know when it is time to go. Helps him think it all through. But the question you ask about when he is hyper...my son's behavior therapist (thru the school district) and Occupational therapist have had the teachers & aides incorporate "brushing" when his behaviors start acting up (it is very relaxing) and also do some activities like balance on balance board or roll onto hands on the ball...they say these simple exercises help his behaviors a great deal. so maybe you might want to ask the teacher to speak with the OT he has one. and if not, request the school to supply one and maybe even a behaviorist too. They help teach the teachers more behavior strategies too. Hope these suggestions are helpful...
