Guest guest
Hi Elaine You dont live in Shawlands by any chance do you? Thanks for your reply (I am a weegie burd myself, you know!!). We thought at first it was her hip cos she does click them a lot... The x-rays were clear and they did blood tests to check for an infection. They mucked up one but the other seemed to indicated no tha wasnt it either....Then Harry, hubby, noticed her toe was a bit sensitive... So maybe she has done something to that. She couldnt walk on it in the morning but is better now. Having to give her some painkillers and tomorrow we will go back for another look. She wasnt too up for another x-ray and as she had screamed the place down all day long we were all pretty glad to get outta there. So we shall see tomorrow. Guest guest
Do you know Marcella Foye? Also my cousin Moran is there, but I guess maybe the kids would be different ages. My parents are in Pollokshaws we should meet next time I ma down in sunny Glasgow and compare notes on SCD. Do you reckon the intro diet is essential as I just basically removed s rice bread which was the only thing not SCD (I think). Havent switched to new enzymes yet either, like to wait until they are dangerously low so that I can get in a panic when I order them and Mandi can preach at me, I told you this would happen.... Must do that later catually Manders, if youre there, please remind me!! Maybe I should start again and do the intro stuff.... Mmmm, is your DAn in the US too then Elaine... Miralx is the same as our Movicol.... Does your son have faecal impaction. He must be same age as Becky she is 9 on June 26th.... Guest guest
Hi Caroline, When you mentioned that couldn’t put her foot down it reminded me so much of that I had to write. I will never forget the first time couldn’t put his foot down because he came hopping over to me and all I could say was ‘look is hopping’ we had been trying to get to hop forever. Anyway we took him to A & E but everything appeared to be fine but it happened again and again. He would have a sore foot in the afternoon or evening but be fine in the morning. It turned out that he had fallen arches. He now wears insoles in all of his shoes and there has been no more pain. Finally Caroline, I noticed that you were keen to know who were the fellow scots on the list. Well I am one, from Glasgow. Elaine

Guest guest
Yes I know Marcella, but her son is a different kettle of fish. Not many children do 1 year VB and recover. Regards SCD it certainly looks like the intro diet is necessary. We are on our second day and has been the happiest boy ever. His eye contact etc had improved since starting DAN in November (with Muscroft) but yesterday and today it has been exceptional, as has his language (for him, he has poor language). isn’t quite impacted (I think) it is more that his bowel is loaded with soft faeces and therefore unable to resume regular peristalsis and so it kind of leaks (for want of a better description). His gut bugs are quite bad too, his recent CDSA showed that we had got rid of most things but that his claustridia and yeast were on the rise. We are about to start S Boullardi for 3 weeks and then Diflucan This was recommended at DAN conference. is 9 on July 2nd. Would be good to meet up whenever you are down Elaine From: Autism Treatment [mailto:Autism Treatment ] On Behalf Of CarolineTraa@... Guest guest
That’s great. was completely bowel continent and independent until 1 year ago. He has been incontinent ever since. He has been on senna but it sent him wild. I think it was the stomach cramps that often come with it. He has been on movicol also and lactulose. All these things emptied his bowel but then it simply refilled again. Probably because his bowel has lost tone and is saggy. I spoke to jerry Kratzinel at DAN conference and he suggested micralax enemas for 5 days which we have done and he is starting high dose buffered vit C as a laxative. He did also suggest that we get benefiber to add bulk but can’t get it here. Luckily my parents are in LA just now and have posted some to me. However I have just heard that benefiber is not SCD legal. So may hang off for a while to see how SCD goes. Has your son managed to regain bowel control now?
