Guest guest
Hello all,My name is April. My husband Mike and I are really glad to have found such a much needed support group. Since we are new to the group let me just get you familiar a little.I have two young children. Rusty 3 who is moderatley Autistic, and 7 who is ADHD. is currently having no problems thanks to our recent med change. She is currently taking 10mg of Adderall XR. Major improvements. As for Rusty, He is begining to finally speak some, but is still unable to express many of his wants and needs verbally, so this may be cause for some of his aggression. Which brings me to our new challenges that I really would appreciate some advice with.1> NOT EATING -- Rusty lived one entire year on only pedia-sure. He went from drinking 3/4 cans per day of pedia-sure to nothing. He was drinking his pedia-sure in his bottle (not a cup), well one day out of the blue he stopped drinking from the bottle and stopped drinking the pedia-sure too. Now his diet consists only of the following (crackers, fresh apples and bananas, french fries and chocolate pudding -- on occasion he will eat some vienna sausages). I dont know what do do now.2>NOT SLEEPING -- In the past Rusty would occasionally have a night here and there where he did not sleep at all and on a few occasions this would go on for as many as three days. Then on the 3rd or 4th day he would crash for at least one entire day (and mommy too). Well though this was an issue then, it was rare. Now we are seeing a pattern of at least 2-3 nights a week with little to no sleep. And finally ...... 3> AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIORS -- Rusty normally is a pretty laid-back little guy. Until recently, when told no, he is begining to throw things (anything he can find and throw) and hitting the walls and floors and throwing himself to the floor. I have been using the time out method, which was working for discipline, but now seems to increase his aggression. If there is any advice that you all can offer it would be greatly appreciated.Thank you Mrs. April Waybright
