First, you shouldn't give any dog the leg bones or the larger wing

bones. These are hollow (to aid the generic bird in flight). If a dog

chews the leg bone in half and then swallows the sharp ends, he could

puncture his gut. I only give my dog the bones that if broken in half

are not hollow.

Why would you want to give your dog raw chicken bones? I always heard it

as a child, and have seen it happen, that if a dog eats raw meat he will

develop a taste for the blood. (This is why I would hesitate gaving a

dog raw bones-for the blood that is in the tissues.) I have seen a dog

fed raw meat on a fairly consistant basis, and he later killed a chicken

and ate most of it. By eating the raw meat, his wild instincts took

over. (Why do you think they feed attack dogs big pieces of raw meat?)

I know this doesn't really have anything to do with the list itself, but

I felt impelled to write regarding an earlier post.

I have been informed that my earlier post to this group should have been sent to

the sender. I was only concerned about any family pet that may have died from

eating a chicken bone and the rationale behind my concer.

I will be leaving this group. Thank you to all who have written to me. I have

learned alot from this group and some day plan on buying an ozone generator.
