Hi all~ I have A quick question.

I am pregnant w/ my second child and my new neurologist advised me against

having an epidural when delivering. I had one for my first and it seemed to go

fine. Anyone experience the same thing?

Thanks!

Thanks for the replies! I have decided to talk to the anesthesia dept as well as

my ob-gyn and neurologist. Luckily , I am very early in this pregnancy and can

plan what course to take. After the last epidural, I did notice that it took my

quite a while to get back on my feet due to the swelling etc.. So again, thank

you for giving me some food for thought!

I had the prolonged duration with my first epidural. The second a few years

later was to strong even at 1/2 stregnth. I felt like my whole body was falling

asleep. A nurse stayed with me incase she needed to call a code blue. I couldn't

open my eyes or talk. I had a hard time breathing. It was very scary. If I ever

need another one I will make sure that I get 1/4 or less of the regular dose.

I found that in the end of 2007 the pain meds had stop working. so it was very

hard just to sleep, I ended up just using a magnet pulsar and a tens machine in

2008, and it seem to work better then the pain meds . I don't need it anymore as

I'm in no pain, because of the alternatives, I'm now on, cheers Ray

any thoughts on an epidural for pain management of cancer? Is this a good or bad

idea?
