Guest guest
, I suppose horsebackriding is no more dangerous than driving a car for anyone - even those of us with CMT. Personally, I have always hated wearing a helmut, and I never used to - so once I had a really bad riding accident - left me with a concussion and 4 days gap of 'lost days'. The other day when I rode, I wore no helmut - but that was on a track, and I had someone riding with me pacing the horse and me. Even when I ride my bike now, I don't wear a helmut. They are just too sweaty. Theraputic horsebackriding is taught to children with neuromuscular disorders - the child is seated backwards - faces the horse's rear - while someone leads the horse...something about this helps the child feel the motion of the horses legs and gait, and can then pick up on a good gait of his own. Do some research on theraputic riding. Anything one of us love to do, I encourage. If you love something, you'll do it, it will produce good feelings, etc. ~ Gretchen
