Hi AngelKat!

As far as I know and have read, cooking does not affect the effectiveness of the

lauric acid! Great news eh ?!

I'm a bit of a secret chef myself - though I tend to do it clothed most of the

time! ;-) Your mention of the Naked Chef makes me wonder - Are you from the UK

or is HE big in the States ?

I would love to have your recipe, maybe off-list if the group considers it off

topic! I love coconut it all its guises!! I make a sauce with loads of double

cream or Creme Fraiche, coconut milk or creamed coconut, and various spices

(chilli, cayenne, cumin, etc). Simple but delicious! I must admit, my cooking

is much like 's and I just tend to throw it all together without the worry

for 'Delia ' accountant-like accuracy! :-)

Take care,

RE: A tasty " de-wormer " ?/coconut milk

Apparently, the coconut's wide use in Thai and eastern cuisine is largely

responsible for the low parasite infestations relative to frequent use of

'dirty' water and lack of hygeine. It is due to the Lauric Acid. I can't

recall off of the top of my head the exact figues but I've read that using

about 25g coconut milk daily would provide enough lauric acid to fight and

prevent parasite infestation!

Another great natural cure and it sure is tasty made into a thai curry!

I'm just wondering if cooking it would affect it's effectiveness.... and

BTW, I have a great recipe for the thai coconut milk sauce from the Naked

Chef! It is wonderful... I eat it with chicken. KAT :)
