I would consider a trial of spiro as a better next step. Tiped sad Send form miiPhone ;-)May your pressure be low!CE Grim MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertensionOn Nov 23, 2009, at 8:21 AM, Francis Bill <georgewbill@...> wrote:

No I haven't been tried on spiro and my VA doctor isn't very likey to give it to me. My K is about 3.7 has been 3.2. My BP is lower then it was still it is the 145/80 range.

Since from my postings like the meds I on and how they worked or not worked. Also by the tests I have had done you seem to think I have PA. I would guess the only way to know for sure is to be retested off the meds knowing my salt intake and my real k at the time of testing. something I can't seem to get done.

I am unable to function at a normal level I am lightheaded all the time. I have been told by my doctor that I just have to live with it. He has done all the testing he is going to do. I sometimes feel that the VA has some kind of limit on how much they spend on some one.

Dr Grim you said something about wanting to do something in the VA.

Of coures they would be glad to have you provide this servive for free. There

maybe something you could do that would help both the Veteran and get paid for

your services as well.

When someone applies for a service connected disability one of the things that

has to be done is the recorded has to be looked at by a doctor that is an expert

in that area.

VA doctors can't be sued for malpractice. The VA does come under the service

connected disability laws. It one feels that there teatment by the VA causes

them to be disabled they can apply for a service connected disability. I have

done this but after 3 years am told the VA has done nonthing wrong.

Since I didn't have my records looked at by a non VA doctor I feel this is the

reason I was turned downed.

If this is something that you would want to do get your information out there.

Post it at all the VFWS and other places Veterans clubs. Also let the State

Department of Veterans Services know you are doing this.

This is why so many are against health care reform. I can understand limiting

how much is spent an many cases. Being on life support being one of them. Once

there is no hope then let things happen in the normal way. But to not try to

find a cauese as to why someone is not able to fuction at normal levels should

not be one of them. Every Sx I have is listed as cause unknow.

There is no question we need to change our current health care system. It would

be better for the changes to come from the health care system and have as little

as possible be controlled be the government.

We could start with doctor peer groups. This is long over due. Doctors know the

health care system best. Good doctor should be able to set standards for good

health care and be able to remove doctors that don't follow good standards.

Does it really cost $20000 to remove someones appendix? I know Doctors and other

health care providers really don't get paid as well as they should. So where

does the money go from that $20000?

Then medicate and monitor yourself. You don't have to be a victim.

It may be when you worked for VA cost was very little concern. I think before

2005 this was the case. From others I have talked to something changed in 2005.

I belive this is when the VA became over loaded with Iraq Vets.

Since I have over 500 pages if information in my records It would take some time

to put this information on here. I have scanned my record and have the in

searchable PDF files. They also have my SSN on every page. Have tried to copy

paste parts on records to word or notepad much information gets lost of format

changes in doing this.

I can put pdf files on windows live and provide you link to them. At this time

until I can find a way to edit out my SSN I wouldn't want to post them here.

I am not sure what size bottle I was buying at the time. I do know it was more

then 12 oz so I think it was the 20 oz bottle could have been the 24 oz bottle.

I would drink at least 3 of them a day. and sometime 4. I also drank a lot of

water. With 110 mg of sodium in 8 oz this would seem like a lot of sodium.

The temperature durning this time was mid 80's to mid 90's with high humidity.

I do think I was haveing Sx before this just not bad enough to stop me form

doing normal things.
