Guest guest
Hi , I was/still am a " toewalker " . High arches my whole life. One surgery to correct " rolling feet " really helped me my whole life. My toewalking now is very limited and will show up when I am extremely tired, which I do not let myself become often. I wear custom made in-shoe orthotics, under my feet, in my shoes, no bracing up my legs. These orthotics help align my feet/gait, so I walk in a heel - toe gait, instead of toes first. I wish I had known of them 40 years ago. I do not have drop foot. Since I connected with Stefan at Swiss Balance and he explained the mechanics of walking to me, I have worn better shoes - New Balance, , etc., and these, combined with wearing my orthotics give me a " normal " gait. No one on this planet can predict how CMT will progress in any child or adult. I wish I had known that when " predictions " were made on me - freaked me out, worried me to death - AND none have EVER happened. I'm very active, and in my exercise program, I work out every part of me, from toes to top of my head. ~ Gretchen
