Hi and everyone

Thanks so much for your feedback, this is so helpful...

The vitamin C is really intriguing...I've been giving Gav that mantra for a bit,

he has grapefruit or orange every morning, orange juice and as much hi C food as

we can get in, along with a 500 mg supplement. It's hard to get him to take

bigger vitamins as yet..but I'm going to keep trying and try to raise his dose.

I've been looking around for a slow release version in dissolvable form in the

hopes that it will be easier for him to get it all down..he hates chewing the

others and won't swallow a pill whole as yet...

The warm water sounds like a great idea...in the tub? I'll try that.

We are also going back to having him sleep with his AFOs on at night,

passive stretching when he grows! They had discontinued them at night as he's

wearing them most of the day for stability..it sort of seemed unfair to have

them at night too..So far though he has agreed to have them on on alternate

nights.

The issue with his growth right appears to be that he's in a basically

several month long, semi-continuous growth spurt with no end in sight. They

warned us that 5-6 could be difficult if he really shoots up for a long period.

Like you I am very leary about surgery...His PA at school is doing

stretching with him during the day and we are doing it again at night. If we

have to go to the casting we'll try it and I can see from the feedback that in

some instances its better than surgery.

Thanks guys

Sally
