I am having plastic AFOs with ankle hinges made right now to replace my

Toe-Offs. They told me they are going to line them to try to make them more

comfortable. I will just be happy to be walking better again!

I was just talking to a friend with CMT who is a teenager. He told me that his

orthotist told him that he might want to try some metal AFOs or braces. He has

probs breaking his at the ankle joint and the orthotists were baffled what to

do. He had never had metal braces so he didn't know anything about them. I told

him about my metal braces and the advantages of each type. When I left he had

decided that he wanted to try some metal braces and was gonna tell the orthotist

to go ahead a make him some. He really like the idea of having some AFOs that

would be cooler in the summertime. He works outside and runs a carwash. He's

also a drummer in a band. He's great. He doesn't let his CMT get him down or

stop him from doing what he wants to do.
