Guest guest
Thanks .....You won't believe it....last night I was taking my AFOs out and putting them in new shoes...and guess what? Another crack. I called my orthotist and he said that we will probably try something else. This is the third pair that cracked, obviously me and the Walk On are not meant to be. Guest guest
Andy, I don't know much about you or how your CMT is going, but my husband is your age and has had surgery and he does really well. Is surgery not an option for you? I know it is usually a last resort but if it keeps you walking somewhat normally. I know surgery is the last thing most want to do but my husband is so happy he had it done, he plays basketball, is a teacher and a door to door salesman. I know all CMT is different though just tell me to shut my face if I don't know what I'm talking about. Good luck with your AFO quest Amelia
Guest guest
Amelia, I appreciate any and all feedback. I was told by a few doctors that surgery would or may work for a few years then you have to repeat it and you are left worse off plus it takes a long time to recover so I was told it was not worth it. I think I need to take multi-treatment approach, medicine + braces + exercise. Thanks again for the feedback. Andy
Guest guest
Hi, Will you please tell me what an Walk-On or Toe-Off AFO is? I have a molded one with the velcro. Thank You. Elaine
