Guest guest
Hey , I don't at all feel you are responsible. I made an educated guess, and while I may have asked input, I know that we are all different, so what works for one, may not work for others. And they are not terrible, just not what I hoped they would be....But I do like them a little better than my rigid ones, as long as they hold up....so no worries here. Really, all I wanted to do is to give a report on how they are working for me. Jimmy
Guest guest
Did your orthotist think about using the Gillete or Tamarak joint in your AFOs? That would give the lift you need for foot drop. That may have been the reason why he thought hinged AFOs wouldn't work for you. I have them and they are much better that the rigid ones. I don't know how anyone can go up and down stairs with the rigid ones. Bob
Guest guest
Bob, My orthotist said that hinged AFOs probably will not work for me since I already hyper-extend my knees and he said that the hinged ones INCLUDING THE GILLETTE AND TAMARAK, will only make this worse. We are all different, what works for one, will not always work for others.....case closed. Jimmy
Guest guest
Jimmy, Just trying to help. Didn't know if your orthotist was considering those joints, there are hinged ones without any dorsi assist. Let''s talk haven't heard from you in a while. How's it going?
