Guest guest
Someone had stated that they had been on Yasmin " droperione-spell?) What birth control were you on, again this one could affect aldosterone levels, I know someone had posted that they were on Yasmin as their OC: stated that fact (spironolactone derivative in Yasmin) .....Again, so by rights, those who are on Yasmin, their ARR could be affected and their PA symptoms minimized/masked.. Again, I had researched it at the time, 1-2 weeks ago but I forget now Chantal > > > > > Do you know of someone that has this chart format in Excel. Guest guest
I would like Dr grim to gives his thoughts on the size of your tumor. What I have read is that any size over 3 cm is a concern and need to be looked very close. > > > > > > > Do you know of someone that has this chart format in Excel. Guest guest
You have PA. Need to know what the lab's normals are on people on BCP and HCTZ 50. They probably don't have any. Has spiro been tried yet?Trust you are DASHing to the max to help low K, high BP and need for meds.CE Grim MD May your pressure be low!Clarence E. Guest guest
Dr. Grim-How do I KNOW that it's PA? How do I calculate the ratio? Is a renin that high normal in PA? I am on Spiro and it took a few mos and increasing the dose but I feel alot better. You are correct that the lab doesn't have "normal" values for people on BCP or diuretics. My PCP didn't tell me to stop either of them ( because I am sure he didn't know to do so) but when my aldo and renin came back, he told me it was PA ,started Spiro and K+. He told me he was very infamiliar w/ PA and had never had a pt with it. I have every symptom, but was not sure w/ my renin being 4. Thank you for your help.Lori Open excel. Guest guest
Because there is nothing else (almost) that will give you the constellation of symptoms and signs you have you have PA. I would not worry but keep on DASHing and spiroing. May your pressure be low!Clarence E. Guest guest
I have a problem with just useing the ratio. 20 is what they tell you you have to have to have PA. This is if you are not taking meds you use the normal amount of salt and your K is normal. > > > > > > > Do you know of someone that has this chart format in Excel. Guest guest
I would ask if they would do a PET scan. Because of size of tumor I would want to have a CT or PET done at about 6 months If no change they yearly should be OK. It might be worth calling you insurance co. Ask to talk to there tumor person. You can also talk to the radiologist that did the report of the CT scan. > > > > > > > > > > > > > Do you know of someone that has this chart format in Excel. Guest guest
Do you know any one that takes a lot of Prednisone? They most likey have Cushing's. So if you have same SX then you have it. Not hard to be tested for it. But you need to see what meds and food to stop 2 weeks before testing. > > > > > > > > > Do you know of someone that has this chart format in Excel. Guest guest
My problem is useing to ratio of 20 when tested on meds. Even off meds This ratio can still miss some. Mayo says the cost to test is $200 maybe if more test were done this cost wound come down. Even at $200 still might be cheaper then giving meds that don't work. > > > > > > > > > > > Do you know of someone that has this chart format in Excel. > > Also > > > > > > would be nice to have k on it. > > > > > > > > > > > > I have updated my BP information with K on it. Guest guest
Are you saying if first time CT shows tumor of 4 cm or bigger no need to have more CT done? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Do you know of someone that has this chart format in > > Excel. Guest guest
I think a PET scan should be able to tell if it is a cancer. > > >
