Hearing loss and tinnitus could be related to CMT?

Hi Gretchen and Everyone,

I have been thinking to email you for sometime about this.

My brother in Brazil has been having a problem with his

hearing recently. He feels like a pressure inside his head and lost

a bit of his hearing, and have tinnitus ( ringing in the ears) too.

The doctor though could be labyrintites...They don't know yet!

He just been to a Ear specialist to find out more.

For many years he also had bad, terrible headaches etc, I wonder

now if all those symptoms are related with CMT?

I think so...but I am not a doctor, sorry!

Well, he is doing a battery of exams to find out more and I am here

searching like mad in order to help him out too.

does not like doctors and now is very concerned about CMT and

I suggested him to do also a DNA test before anything.

He's done a MRI of the brain.

The doctor told him he could see some tiny little white dots

showing a kind of small calcification in his brain, wondering if

this could be caused by a parasite from eating pork meat..

Can you imagine it?

In any case the doctor told him that calcification was not very

significant but never the less he will need to go to a neurologist

as well.

Well, if any of you have any idea please let me know.
