Guest guest
Hi to all, Recently I was diagnosed with an elevated left side Diaphragm and sent to a pulmonary specialist, which had heard of CMT, but never had a person have only one side of their Diaphragm elevated instead of both. He did a test to find out that my Diaphragmwas not paralzed at this time, which is good news. He said at this time my lung capacity is diminished by about 20%, because of the Diaphragm pushing up against my left lung. This is something that will have to be monitored every 6 months unless I get sick. I just turned 50 and think I have CMT1A, had the blood test but came back inconclusive. My nerve conduction test points towards CMT1A, had this 5 years ago, but have known I had same thing as my father since I was 33, just had no name for it other than hereditary neuropathy. Never heard of CMT until 5 years ago. This site has been a God send, helping me learn things about my condition. I hope this info helps someone. Guest guest
Hi Connie, I am glad you enjoy this list as much as I do. Gretchen our moderator works very hard for us. I don't know what I would do without her. Can asthma medicine help you with your breathing? For years I couldn't get a full breath until I started taking advair for asthma. I feel much better now.
