Guest guest
Hi : Thanks very much for asking. We've had the orthotist adjust his AFOs as much as possible and have gone back to AFOs at night and stretching in the bathtub as was suggested. Thankfully at the moment his bad foot is back to a little better than 90 degrees, meaning we've got back a bit of breathing space with all the hard work. The latest growth spurt seems to have eased. We're to watch out for rubbing in the AFOs due to the heel cords over tightening and see the surgeon in January. They will reconsider the casting etc then, depending on how he's doing. His stamina is certainly down, he's having more trouble with one leg and says that he doesn't like to colour because his hands get tired. May be a new normal, but its hard to tell. His teachers are being so supportive they've arranged for him to sit in two chairs, back straight, legs flat, at group time etc. to get extra hamstring stretching in on a daily basis. I feel happy that whatever comes we're doing everything we can. He was pleased that the clinic OT suggested we get a computer and educational games at home so he can get as savvy as he can before grade 1, as he'll have a computer on his desktop at school. Now that was a popular suggestion...though I'm not sure Super- really rates as educational-lol-... Cheers Sally
