We currently live in the Milwaukee area and have been seeing a neurologist who is head of the MDA Clinic at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Carley had low NCV readings and her blood was tested through Athena for the demyelinating types of CMT. The test came back negative. She then had nerve and muscle biopsies performed and based on the results the neurologist said that she has a CMT type 1 of some kind. Whether or not this also includes the type 3 and type 4 I am not sure. I do not feel that our current neurologist has as much experience in diagnosising and dealing with CMT as others around the country. If anyone would like to recommened a neurologist who has knowledge of CMT I would appreciate it. If he or she specializes in working with children that would be even better.
