Abilify. weight gain, anyone?

Evan had an appointment to see his pediatrician about increasing his

Trileptal and he had gained 11 pounds since his last appointment. She asked

me if he had gained a lot of weight since being on the Abilify and that she

was concerned about the 11 pounds increase since his last visit in July. But

when I told her that he had been around the 100 pound mark for a couple of

years then she was not concerned since he is growing up in height.

I told her that I understood that Abilify was suppose to be weight neutral

and she said that was not always the case. Now I am wondering if Abilify is

what has caused Evan's brother, to gain so much weight! I mentioned

to her her that was the one with uncontrollable appetite and that we

had thought it was something else causing it. She does not take care of

's pscyh meds and of course, now he is with his mom again. But her

remark makes me wonder if there are any others out there who have seen or

heard of weight gain with the Abilfiy? We thought the Zoloft might have been

what was causing it but he has been off the Zoloft for some time and is

still eating almost uncontrollably. Evan has always eaten a lot but he burns

it off with his activity. is a couch potato and put on over 70 pounds

in 2004 compared to Evan's 11 pounds.
