Mrs of Foresight has used Ziman drops with my son - she wanted him on them as soon as she heard he was having seizures. She makes them up herself : B6, zinc and manganese (i think). Also gave him magnesium. I think Karl Pfeiffer used them with schizophrenia and it was something to do with kryptopyrroles, but I never understood exactly what went on.

manganese absences

Hello all, is still suffering from absences (definately reduced since biomedical) So far Magnesium has helped slightly, then taurine helped a bit more. They are tiny and last about 1 second max and he just looses focus and ralaxes his muscles very slightly. But I want to get this under control before I think about chelation. His hair element test shows he is low in manganese (half way between 2.5th and 16th percentile. I have read that this may be related to absence seizures but am a bit loath to try as this is a heavy metal and can cause learning difficulty. He has not tried Melatonin has anyone had any success with this for siezures (found something that says it may help).Has anyone got any ideas on what to try next.__________ NOD32 1.1440 (20060312) Information __________This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system.http://www.eset.com

Many thanks for that Margaret.

I checked manganese out a bit more and found it plays a role in the

metabolism of amino acids. So I decided to give it a try and have not

seen any more absences. This positive result has happened before with

magnesium and taurine (we are also on zinc and B6) but does seem to

ware off after 5 days or so, though things then remain slightly

improved. I wonder if anyone knows why this is happening.

Anyway fingers crossed.
