Guest guest
Hi Chantal, I had a numbness/tingling/paresthesia type feeling in my extremeties for years. When I found out that my Mg was low I started taking a 400 mg supplement. I don't know for sure that low Mg was the cause of it but since I started taking the Mg supplements the paresthesia has decreased by probably 90%. a > From: Chantal <chantalrobichaud29@...> > Subject: magnesium and potassium > hyperaldosteronism > Date: Friday, October 16, 2009, 10:41 AM > Merck states: > > Mg deficiency should be suspected even when plasma Mg > concentration is normal in patients with unexplained > hypocalcemia or refractory hypokalemia > > http://www.merck.com/mmpe/sec12/ch156/ch156i.html#CIHHGEGG > > (see table as well refers to aldosterone > oversecretion) > > Again, diuretics can cause your magnesium to go low and > apparently, the serum test for magnesium doesn't always > reflect your total magnesium levels (sounds a lot like the > potassium test ) I'm thinking of Francis Bill.. > > So for those of you that are on spiro, potassium, DASHing > and still having symptoms, perhaps magnesium can help ? > > Any thoughts, > > I'll start magnesium next week to see if my residual > symptoms can be helped until I get a diagnosis > > TTFN > Chantal > > > > ------------------------------------ > >
Guest guest
I take Mg also because I was having the same symptoms as a described only in my upper extremities. It has helped tremendously for me.In fact, I have actually missed a few days and can literally feel it in my hands.
