Look in our Files section in the " Aquatic Exercises Folder " - there are

many balance exercises in the pool to do - I know, I do them. A very

simple one is walk in the water, against the current with a book on

your head. (just make sure it is a book you don't mind getting wet).

Another one I do is using a float - two round styrofoam circles on each

end, with half a broom-like pole connecting them. Put your hands on the

circles, outstretched, turn to one side, arms outstretched, focus your

eyes on your right hand when you move to the right, as you then move to

the left, focus your eyes on the left hand. Feet should be hip width

apart. Even better to do this against a current too.

Also the squats, lunges, skips, steps, I do help me with balance.

Jackie,

Good referal as far as Dr. Hain.  I have talked to him many times via

email and a really nice person.  He is very well known in the M.W. and he

helped me out alot when I first lost my hearing.

Anyway, just wanted to drop that note and hope everyone is doing fine today.

Hey, Tim - Sorry you are having balance issues. Here are some exercises

to get you started. There are balance specialists who can help. Ask your

PCP for references for someone in your area. _Cawthorne-Cooksey exercises_
