Hi Judy,

I laughed from the beginning when I read the *1-4 ounces twice a day*

recommendation. I open my refrigerator door and take a look at what there is

to

drink, and I go straight for the KT. In the late evening I try to drink kefir

and not KT because of the caffeine in KT. At work I used to head to the soft

drink machine in the afternoon, but now I just take a quart of KT to work

with me and I walk right past the COKE.

At 56 years old, I'm a beginning Hebrew language student and since I began

drinking KT, my concentration has improved. Perhaps it's simply the caffeine

in the tea, but I do feel as though my reading retention has improved the

past three weeks. And Hebrew is not an easy language, LOL.

I have always loved dry champagne but can seldom afford to buy a bottle of

GOOD champagne, and KT reminds me of nice, dry bubbly. Those carbonated

fruit drinks like sparking cider, are way too sugar-sweet. KT is perfect --

morning, noon or night and the price is right!

My only real concern right now is the issue with tooth enamel. I also drink

kefir, so I'm careful to rinse my mouth after both KT or kefir.

I love this stuff too. I thought I was addicted to coffee until I

I used to do that once upon a time until I learnt from a research paper

somewhere that the acid in Kombucha and Kefir does not attack tooth

enamel.

On the contrary, it has a protective effect, as it is antibacterial and

kills precisely those bacteria that feed on foodstuffs in your mouth

which the bad bacteria feed on that produce the corrosive acids.

The truth of this is born out that, ever since having Kombucha in larger

measure (at least a litre a day in smaller doses and in between meals),

I have not had any drilling due to karies! :-))

What great probiotics we can consume :-)

If you drink KT before it has turned to vinegar, there will be sugar in it.

The sugar feeds the germs in your mouth that cause tooth decay. If you drink

KT after it has turned to vinegar, the acid in the vinegar can corroded your

teeth. Therefore, you should rinse your mouth out after drinking KT with at

least water, better yet baking soda and water to return the pH of your mouth

to normal

Hi ,

Thanks for your response regarding tooth enamel and KT. I usually

rinse to be on the safe side. The baking soda rinse sounds

interesting. I brush with baking soda instead of toothpaste. It's

also

a good for a quick fix for pH re-adjustment.

Hi ,

I bring a quart of KT with me to work also and drink the majority of

it while reading these posts. I seem to get really thirsty for it

when I read about it:o) I also have a bottle in my car for my trip

to and fro. The only problem is, the one in the car is plastic and

doesn't taste as good as the glass bottle I bring to work. I know

plastic is not good to use for the KT but most glass bottles won't

fit in my cup holder. I do have some that will but I need 2 hands to

open the cork, which is difficult when driving!

When I open my refrigerator I don't have any decisions to make

because my bottom shelf is full of KT and nothing else in there to

drink:o) My friends think I'm a little strange because I live alone

and have 5 gallons of KT in my frig at all times!

I think the plain KT tastes very much like a flat champagne,

depending on how much green tea is used, if the balance is 3 green,

2 black, it tastes more like apple cider. I've become totally

addicted to the tea and have derived many benefits from it. I've

never really been a pop drinker, it's always been too sweet for me.

At one time I used to drink cranberry juice but got away from that a

few years ago and just started drinking more water and coffee!

I haven't been concerned at all about tooth enamel because when I

got my culture, Tina informed me that the tea was good for your

teeth, which was another plus. I find that I don't have near as much

tartar on my teeth since I've been drinking the tea. I brush with

baking soda and peroxide and have for many years. Toothpaste is as

dangerous as drinking tap water with fluoride and chlorine.

Congratulations on learning Hebrew, I know it must be difficult.
